Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I wash my lashes?
Clean Lashes = Better Retention
When you don’t wash your lashes, oil, skin, dirt, and makeup will start to build up on your extensions which will cause you to lose your lash extensions quicker. If you don’t clean your lashes, you have a higher chance of getting an eye infection or premature loss of your natural lashes.
How do I clean my lashes?
Dispense 1-2 pumps of lash cleanser (I sell one!) onto the back of your hand. Swirl foam with a clean, soft, fluffy makeup brush then apply gently to lids and through lashes. Be sure you are getting right at the base of your lash extensions (above and underneath) as this is where most buildup occurs. Make sure to wash your lashes vertically, or parallel to your lash extensions. If you wash them in a circular motion or horizontally, it will twist the lashes and make them fall off.Use your makeup brush to rinse your lids with cool water. Pat dry with a tissue and then once dry, comb through with a clean mascara wand.
Make sure you are cleaning your lashes regularly right from the beginning. It's a lot harder to get a squeaky clean lash line after the buildup has already occurred!
What can I do to make sure my lashes last longer?
✔️ Do not get your lash extensions wet for the first 24 hours
✔️Do not rub your eyes and pull the extensions out
✔️Avoid high temperatures (ex. from hair dryers, ovens, etc.)
✔️Use lash shampoo at least once a day
✔️Brush extensions with a lash wand regularly
✔️Do not use cosmetics and makeup products that contain oils around your eyes
✔️Do not use mascara (not even on bottom lashes) and lash curler
✔️Book your lash appointment every 2-3 weeks for fills / fresh set
What should I do to prep for a lash appointment?
✔️Come with absolutely no makeup on, around, or under your eyes. Coming to your appointment with a clean face will save time and eliminate the need for you lash artist to remove your eye makeup.
✔️Do not have caffeine 6 hours prior to your appointment time. This will cause your eyes to flutter during your appointment which will make it your eyes harder to lash.
✔️Wear comfy clothes. You will be laying down for a long period of time so wearing comfortable clothes allows you to make the most of this time to relax and be pampered.
✔️Arrive freshly showered and with clean hair. You won't be able to wet the lashes for the initial 24 hours after application.
Will my lashes turn out just like my inspo picture?
You are more than welcome to bring inspo pictures to your appointment, but you should never expect your lashes to look like someone else’s. Everyone’s lashes are different. They take on your unique eye shape and the form of your natural lashes. That’s the beauty of them!
There are several factors that will make your lashes look different than someone else’s. Such as, your eye shape, the length and thickness of your natural lashes, and the amount of healthy lashes you have.
What’s the difference between classic, hybrid, and volume extensions?
Classic lashes are simple, beautiful and natural-looking eyelash extensions. They are applied on a 1:1 ratio, which means one extension is attached to one natural lash. Classic lashes won’t add volume, but will add length.
Hybrid lashes are a mixture of both classic lashes and volume lashes. Choosing hybrid extensions gives you the best of both worlds. Hybrid extensions offer a variety of texture and more volume.
Volume lashes add length and volume, to create a very dramatic and full look. They involve applying a "fan" of lash extensions to one lash. So, instead of the 1:1 ratio of classic lashes, it would be 1:5.
Why are my lashes falling out faster than normal?
A lot of lash newbies feel like they’re lashes fall out more rapidly when they have eyelash extensions. As long as the extensions are applied properly and taken care of, this isn’t the case.
You may just notice your lashes falling out more than before because they have a thick, black extension applied to them. Lashes will still follow their normal lash cycle, which typically lasts 60-90 days, even with extensions on.
What lash style will fit my eye shape the best?
It is important to keep in mind that no two eyes are the same. Everyone’s eye shape, pupils, and iris are different and that can have an effect of which lash style would best compliment each person’s unique eyes.
